All players need to have full dexterity and flexibilty in their feet movements, both feet need to be able to comfortably manipulate the ball using several techniques.
Each box below provides an outline of the movement with Ball Mastery & Basic Skills the can be used.
Key for early ages as used to stop or roll the ball.
Ball Mastery #1 Sole Taps
Skill #3 Step On
Used if trying to turn inwards or switch ball from one foot to the other.
Ball Mastery #2 Shuffles
Skill #1 Inside Cut
Used when taking the ball away from the body, very important as used as last touch on a number of skills
Ball Mastery #4 Take Stops
Skill #2 Outside Cut
Skill #15 Side Step
Very underated part of the foot, used wehn running with the ball or striking the ball. Younger players will tend to use their toe with a locked ankle instead of pointing the foot to the floor and striking with top of the foot.
Ball Mastery #17 Pull Push Laces
Skill #15 High Wave
Slightly more advanced, the ability to slide the foot up and down the ball without losing contact.
Ball Mastery #9 Inside Rolls
Skill #7 Slap Cut
Using the sole of the foot and pulling the ball back towards you.
Would normally be used with a second touch as a change of direction
